The Shape of Sorrow
In Development

On the night of her adult son’s funeral, a grieving mother finds solace in his best friend. Bound by heartache and shared loss, the two form an unexpected bond. The film explores how grief isolates and yet connects us, dissolving boundaries and creating comfort where least expected.

In 2025, female director representation plummeted to 8%, sending us back to numbers seen in 2008 (as reported by the Annenberg Inclusion Initiative report). This sharp decline in hiring practices and opportunities for female directors shows the modest gains made in recent years are reversing. Supporting this project helps build pathways for women in leadership roles in the film and entertainment industry.
